Advice for passengers following Goldtrail collapse
British tour operator Goldtrail went into administration on Friday 16th July. Goldtrail provided flights and package holidays to Turkey from Belfast and ceased trading at 4.00p.m on Friday. While scheduled inbound flights continued over the weekend many passengers continue to be affected.
Advice to passengers
If you’re already on holiday, you should be able to complete your holiday but you will need to contact the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on 0203 4410846 (if calling from abroad 0044 203 441 0846) for the latest information or alternatively your tour operator. The CAA plans to bring back every traveller on replacement planes and the majority of flights home from Turkey will operate as normal.
If you are already on holiday and had just booked the flights only, you will need to contact the Civil Aviation Authority 0203 4410846 and check if there are any alternative flights as you have to make your own travel arrangements. You may also need to check with Belfast International airport to see if there are other flights that have been organised. If you have holiday insurance you may be able to get a refund for the flight but check your terms and conditions.
If you are due to fly and have paid for a package holiday with Goldtrail, there are no more outbound flights but you will be protected by the Air Travel Organisers licensing which means you will get a refund. You should not go to the airport and instead contact the Civil Aviation Authority for guidance on getting a refund 0203 441 0846. If you have paid for just the flights, you are not automatically entitled to a refund so you need to check with your airline and/or your insurer if you have one. If you have purchased your flight with a credit card you have shared responsibility with the credit card company so you may need to also contact them.
