Help and Advice for Internet Shoppers

online

In the run up to festive season more and more people are turning to the internet as a practical, less time consuming method of doing their Christmas Shopping.

It can be a less stressful and more efficient method of getting those large, heavy or hard to find items, as well as a general alternative to the often crowded shopping centres we are all familiar with at this time of year.

While many consumers will be aware of at least some of the rights they have in relation to purchases made from shops on the High Street it is often surprising that we are prepared to make what can be very expensive purchases via the internet, with no knowledge as to our consumer rights and remedies if things go wrong.

To ensure that all customers know where they stand in relation to online  purchases we at Citizens Advice have produced a Fact Sheet for Internet Shopping. We hope that this will enable consumers to make their purchases with a clearer understanding of the process and what do to if the goods are not as they expected or don't arrive.
