Compensation for Easter Power Cut Homes

Around 850 customers of Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) will be receiving compensation payments resulting from the extended period they spent without electricity over the Easter holidays.
A payment of £100 will be made to all those customers who remained without power until Easter Sunday (4th April 2010).
An NIE spokesperson said that customers would be receiving a letter within the next week and payments by cheque would follow automatically. Citizens Advice warmly welcomes this move, particularly given the length of time some households went without electricity over the holiday period.
