Social Security Advocacy
Citizens Advice has developed a training package to assist experienced tribunal representatives to gain recognition of their work and also provides the necessary skills for those who wish to get involved in this rewarding area.
"Social Security Advocacy" is accredited by the University of Ulster. The Course enhances knowledge and understanding of the jurisdiction and procedures of tribunals. The acquisition of practical advocacy skills is encouraged through role-play, observation of tribunals and supervised representation.
Participants successfully completing this 7 day module will receive a certificate from the University and gain 20 CATS points (Level B). As this is a module within the BA/BSc Combined Studies Degree programme, students can continue to study other modules, which may lead to a university certificate, diploma or degree.
