Citizens Advice has a valued partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to provide dedicated advice to both patients with cancer and their families. This partnership continues to develop with staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast City Hospital and most recently at the Mater Hospital. The service has now been extended to the Ulster Hospital.
The Macmillan Welfare Rights Advisers at the three Belfast hospitals saw 1,940 new clients in 2009/10 and helped clients to claim over £2.3million in benefits.
